Born Barbara Jean Blank in 1987, in school Kelly Kelly was into gymnastics until an injury cut it short, leading her into cheerleading. Out of high school she attended college and began studying broadcast journalism. She was also modeling, appearing largely in bikini calendars and as a promo model across Florida.
