Amy Winehouse blew Bond chances

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was too high on drugs to record a James Bond theme song.

The 'Back to Black' singer - who teamed up with producer Mark Ronson for the proposed 'Quantum of Solace' title track in 2008 - allegedly ruined the collaboration by partying too hard at the recording studio.

Amy's estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It just turned into an excuse for a wild drink and drugs party. She wasn't concentrating on work."

Mark later scrapped plans to work with Amy, and reportedly halted the sessions because of her drug addiction problems.

Alicia Keys and Jack White's duet 'Another Way to Die' was later chosen by Bond bosses.

Blake claims he was thrilled when Amy said she wanted to record a song for 'Quantum of Solace' - because she promised the track would be a tribute to him.

He explained: "She told me she was writing a song about me and her, and our relationship. How cool is that. To think, in 30 or 40 years, people would be watching this film and still hearing the song about us. That was really amazing - but she messed it all up.

"Amy has always been under intense pressure, even when we were together. So much is expected of her because 'Back to Black' was such an amazing hit. People need to give her a break."

Amy's turbulent relationship with Blake was the inspiration behind her successful 2006 album 'Back to Black'.

The pair have been granted a decree nisi and will finalise their divorce in just over four weeks.
